Beginning July 1, 2026, the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program covers:
The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program is a temporary program that helps eligible Medicare beneficiaries access certain GLP-1 weight loss medications. The program is available nationwide for people with Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage, including most Medicare Advantage and Medicare prescription drug plans. Learn more.
Eligibility is based on factors such as your body mass index (BMI), health history, and current Medicare prescription drug coverage.
You may qualify if you meet certain weight and health requirements. The best way to find out if you're eligible is to talk with your Herself Health clinician. They can review your health history and help determine whether the program may be right for you.
If you qualify for the program, you'll pay a $50 copay for a one-month supply of medication.
Because these medications are covered through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program and not your regular Medicare Part D benefit, this copay does not count toward your Part D deductible or out-of-pocket costs.
If you're eligible, your care team will prescribe a covered medication and complete any required prior authorization paperwork. They must also confirm that the medication is being used as part of a weight management plan that includes healthy eating and physical activity.
Please allow time for your pharmacy to process the prescription and for any required prior authorization to be reviewed and approved. Medication availability may vary based on pharmacy inventory.
Visit www.medicare.gov/coverage/weight-loss-drugs for the latest information about the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program and covered medications.
